Bike policy for airlines.
Most airlines will charge between £17.50 and £25 each way. This might initially seem outrageous but the airline will give you between 32 and 50kg of EXTRA weight allowance. Some people try to get away without paying and succeed! However, please bear in mind how disappointed you'll be if you get to the airport without pre booking your bike onboard and then being told that they can't take it! Personally, I'd pay the cash and have piece of mind!
To avoid confusion at check-in we strongly recommend that you print the relevant airlines bike carriage policy and take it to the airport for when you check-in. Each airline has a different policy and weight allowance which can be confusing for the check-in personnel as they might not work directly for the airline.
